Shed put up on the road leading to the Kumaran Kundram Temple causes traffic issues
Officials of the Kumaran Kundram Temple at Hasthinapuram have put up a shed on the arterial road leading to the temple without securing the permission from the local body. The shed also has a provision for vendors on the road margin.
The shed encroaches on a road through which a few buses are operated to Nanmangalam. The shed has reduced the road width, causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians, who run the risk of being knocked down by vehicles.
We request the Tambaram Corporation and the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department to remove the shed at the earliest.
S. Damodaran,
Hasthinapuram.
A senior official of the Tambaram Corporation says the shed has been put up temporarily for a temple festival. The temple officials have been directed to remove it once the festival is over.
The Highways Department is expanding the Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road to ease traffic congestion. This road has a service road on a few stretches where wrong-side driving, especially by heavy vehicles, has become rampant.
