
Rotary’s Vandana Award presented to R. K. Nair

Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotract Club of Mangalore City presented Rotary’s 23rd Vandana Award to environment conservationist Radhakrishna Nair at a function in the city on Saturday.
Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotract Club of Mangalore City presented Rotary’s 23rd Vandana Award to environment conservationist Radhakrishna Nair at a function in the city on Saturday.
Kasaragod-based Mr. Nair was presented with the award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the fields of environment protection and afforestation in the country, a release said.
Speaking on the occasion, Devdas Rai, chairman of the award selection committee who presented the award, said the annual Vandana Award is conferred on exemplary achievers. Mr. Nair has converted over 1,000 acres of barren land into Japanese method of Miyavaki forest across 13 Indian states to combat pollution and restore biodiversity.
Akshay Rai, president, Rotaract Club spoke. Bhaskar Rai, president, Rotary Club of Mangalore Central presided over.
