Three men were killed in a road mishap after their mini truck crashed into a stationary truck near Medahalli in east Bengaluru on Saturday night, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Suresh, Manikanta, and Srinivas, residents of east Bengaluru. According to a preliminary probe, the trio were arriving in the city from Hoskote when the incident occurred. However, the police are yet to ascertain the exact place they were coming from.
According to the police, a small truck was stationed near the Medahalli flyover after its tyre got punctured at around 11.30 p.m. The mini truck carrying the deceased individuals failed to notice the stationary vehicle and rammed into it from behind.
“The impact of the crash left two people in the truck dead, while one was severely injured. However, he too succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital,” a police officer said. A preliminary investigation suggests that the stationary truck driver failed to take all necessary precautionary measures, which led to the crash. The K.R. Puram Traffic Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
