The Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) B. C. Bhagavan said on Sunday that the University will soon open a research centre on Yoga and Naturopathy on 60-acre land in Bengaluru.
Yoga and naturopathy will be popularised through the centre using science and technology, he said.
He was speaking at the 31st graduation day of SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Ujire at Dharmasthala.
Yoga and naturopathy are effective in protecting the health of body and mind. Efforts will be made to create awareness among the people to build a healthy society through the proposed centre, Dr. Bhagavan said.
The youth are going astray due to the modern lifestyle that is far away from nature. In addition, they are falling prey to bad habits and losing their health. Since ancient times, people have been maintaining their health and happiness in the lap of peaceful nature through yoga, karma yoga, bhakti yoga, jnana yoga, etc., he said.
The Vice-Chancellor advised the outgoing graduates to face problems and challenges with courage and serve patients with humanity, kindness, compassion and love.

In a surprising turn of events, Urvashi theatre, one of Bengaluru’s iconic single screens, has re-opened, with the much-talked-about Dhurandhar: The Revenge running to a full house in the theatre. After the expiry of the 45-year lease, it seemed like curtains would come down on the king-size theatre but for now, it’s good news for fans.
