Schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions reopen with festive welcome for students after summer vacation.
Schools reopened after summer holidays for students of kindergarten and classes I to X in Puducherry and Karaikal regions on Monday. A festive atmosphere prevailed in almost all government, aided, and private schools in Puducherry with students being welcomed with flowers and sweets.
Schools had closed for summer vacation on April 28 after the Department of School Education announced promotion of all students of Classes I to VIII for the academic year 2025-26.
The officials of the School Education Department had made special arrangements for the distribution of free books and notebooks among children of government schools. Earlier, schools were cleaned, and repair works were carried out on the premises to welcome the children after a month-long break.
