Sakshi Tanwar didn't attend weddings for 8 years during Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii shoot. This is why

Sakshi Tanwar said that she did not attend any weddings for eight years while she was shooting for the daily soap Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. The actress also mentioned that 'nothing polishes you like television'.

Sakshi Tanwar became a household name with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii as Parvati. The actress became a popular face on TV and was also praised for her acting chops. However, shooting for a daily soap comes with its own challenges. In a recent interview, the Mai actress revealed that for the eight years that she was a part of the Ekta Kapoor show, she did not attend any weddings or social gatherings.

Although working for television might have been challenging, Sakshi Tanwar has always credited the small screen for what she is today. Speaking about long working hours on TV with Femina, the actress said, “Nothing polishes you like television; it’s that daily polishing of your craft. It’s very demanding. But what I have learned is that there has to be a balance in everything, including your work. There was a time when my work was my everything. When I was shooting for Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, that was the only thing I was doing for those eight years. I did not attend any weddings, nothing. I wouldn’t get time."

The actress added that she is now taking up work that fit into her life smoothly so that she can spend quality time with her daughter. "So, I just feel that, now, in the phase that I’m in, work is important, but it’s (only) a part of my life. Now I try to do the work that fits in my life smoothly, where I can be with my daughter and my family. I want to go to her school, I want to drop her and pick her up every day. I think Covid has taught all of us that in a big, big way," said Sakshi.

Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii was about a Marwadi joint family. Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati was an ideal daughter-in-law of the Agarwal family, while Kiran Karmarkar's Om was the ideal son. The story revolved around daily matters and trivial issues of a household. The show successfully ran for eight-long years and enjoyed a massive fan following and consistently remained in the list of Top 5 most-watched shows from 2000 to 2008. With an approximate run time of 24 minutes, per episode, the show consists of around 1661 episodes in its total run.
