
Sahibzada Farhan set for ODI debut after T20 WC surge, confirms Shaheen Afridi

BAN vs PAK, 1st ODI: Shaheen Shah Afridi confirmed that Sahibzada Farhan, Shamyl Hussain, and Maaz Sadaqat will make their ODI debuts against Bangladesh in the series opener on Wednesday in Mirpur.
Sahibzada Farhan is set to make his ODI debut when Pakistan face Bangladesh in the first game of the threematch ODI series on Wednesday, March 11. Pakistan skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi confirmed the same in the pre-match press conference, praising Farhan as one of the team’s top limited-overs players.
Afridi also confirmed that Maaz Sadaqat and Shamil Hussain will make their debuts, with Pakistan having six uncapped players in the squad. He added that Farhan would open the batting alongside Sadaqat, with Hussain at No. 3, expressing hope that the trio would play their natural game and showcase their skills for the team.
“There are several players in the squad, and a few of them will make their debut tomorrow. There would be three debutants. One of them is Sahibzada Farhan, he has been a top performer in T20s and List A cricket for Pakistan,”

Farhan enjoyed a stellar T20 World Cup, scoring 383 runs in six innings at an average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25, despite Pakistan exiting before the semi-finals. He became the first batter to score multiple centuries in a single edition, hitting hundreds against Namibia and Sri Lanka, and broke Virat Kohli’s record for most runs in a single tournament.
