Councillor (ward 55) R. Muthusubramanian of CPI (M) submitted a petition complaining about erratic implementation of underground drainage work in his ward. He said the contractor identified for the work was executing it in an unplanned manner by digging roads at different spots at the same time.
“If the work is completed in a phased manner, the roads dug for laying the underground drainage lines can be repaired or relaid. Since the work is being done in a haphazard manner, the residents are suffering a lot. Hence, the Corporation officials should instruct the contractor to do the work with great care and planning,” Mr. Muthusubramanian said.
Seeking removal of encroachments made by three individuals, including a TWAD Board official, on a common path in Post Office Street in Palayamkottai and Thulasivanam Street in Bharani Nagar in Vannarpet, two petitions were submitted by the residents.
