Renault has reintroduced the iconic Duster in India in its third-generation avatar, bringing modern design, hybrid powertrains and advanced technology as it prepares to re-enter the fiercely competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Renault India has officially unveiled the third-generation Duster, marking the return of a nameplate that played a pivotal role in creating the mid-size SUV segment in the country. First introduced in 2012 and discontinued in 2022, the Duster now returns in a significantly evolved form. Revealed in Chennai on Republic Day 2026, the all-new Duster represents the first major step in Renault’s renewed India strategy under its International Game Plan 2027, with a strong emphasis on localisation, electrified petrol powertrains and advanced in-car technology.
Pre-bookings for the new Duster are now open at Rs 21,000. Renault will announce prices in March 2026, with deliveries of turbo-petrol variants scheduled to begin in April. The strong-hybrid version will follow later in the year, around the Diwali festive season.
The new-generation Duster builds on its rugged legacy while adopting a sharper and more modern visual identity. It retains an upright stance with squared-off proportions, flared wheel arches and extensive black cladding that reinforce its SUV credentials. The India-spec model differentiates itself from the global version with redesigned LED headlamps featuring eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs that also double as turn indicators.
Up front, the trapezoidal grille houses prominent Duster badging, while the front bumper gets a bold silver surround reminiscent of the first-generation model, along with pixel-style LED fog lamps. In profile, the SUV rides on 18-inch black alloy wheels and gets functional roof rails capable of supporting up to 50kg. Ground clearance stands at 212mm, supported by strong approach and departure angles for added off-road confidence.
At the rear, the India-spec Duster features a connected LED tail-lamp bar, absent on the global model, along with C-shaped LED elements, a roof-mounted spoiler, rear wiper and washer, and a black bumper with silver accents. An exclusive Mountain Jade Green exterior shade, inspired by Himalayan forests, will be offered, along with dual-tone roof options for a more premium look.
Inside, the new Duster introduces a fighter jet-inspired, driver-centric cabin that blends rugged design with a noticeable step up in perceived quality. The dashboard adopts a layered layout with sharp, angular elements, Y-shaped AC vents finished in chrome, and a raised centre console with a compact electronic gear selector.
