Realme 9 Pro+ launch confirmed, its first look and key specifications out

Realme 9 Pro+ has leaked in photos and it looks indistinguishable from the Realme 9i, which was launched earlier this week, and the Realme 9 Pro’s leaked photos.

Realme 9 Pro+ is coming to India soon. The company has finally confirmed that there is indeed a Pro+ version this time and it will arrive as the top-end model in the series. With the Realme 9 Pro+ at the helm, Realme’s 9-series will have four phones, including the Realme 9, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9i that was launched earlier this week in India. Realme’s announcement about the 9 Pro+, however, does not give away anything but a fresh leak around it not only reveals its specifications but also the looks.

“What are you expecting from the #realme9Pro+ that will make it stand out?” said Realme India on Twitter. The question accompanied a photo that announced the “first-ever Pro+” of Realme’s number series is coming. Realme India boss Madhav Sheth previously confirmed there will be a Realme 9 Pro series, which means there will be a 9 Pro+ and a 9 Pro, if not more, in the lineup. We now know there will be a better top model in the series, but the company is not saying anything about how.

Thanks to a leak from Smartprix and OnLeaks, we have our first look at the Realme 9 Pro+. The phone looks indistinguishable from the Realme 9i and the Realme 9 Pro’s leaked photos. It has the same two-big-sensor-one-small design on the back and a gradient finish on it. The phone’s front has a punch-hole display and a chin at the bottom. There is a power button on the right and a volume rocker on the left. Since a physical fingerprint sensor is not visible, I am assuming the display has it embedded - in which case, we may expect the 9 Pro+ to come with an OLED panel.

It is a good thing that we do not have to guess much. The Smartprix report has revealed key specifications of the Realme 9 Pro+. It will come with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is not, however, clear if it will support adaptive switching. The phone may use a MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor with at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It may come with a customised 50-megapixel Sony sensor with optical image stabilisation, which will be a first feature in India. This sensor will be in the company of 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Inside the punch-hole will be a 16-megapixel camera. The Realme 9 Pro+ may feature a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, the report said.

The list of leaked specifications is limited, but detailed enough to understand that Realme 9 Pro+ will be a premium phone. The price of the phone has not been leaked yet, but you can expect it to cost above Rs 20,000, considering the Pro model from last year itself started at Rs 17,999. The report, however, mentions that the Realme 9 Pro+ will come in Midnight Black, Aurora Green, and Sunrise Blue colour options.
