Ranveer Singh approached for Shaktimaan. Actor is keen on superhero film | Exclusive

Ranveer Singh has been offered to play the Indian superhero Shaktimaan. The actor is currently in talks with the makers on the same.

Sony Pictures International in collaboration with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International announced the biggest superhero film to be made in India, earlier this year. Shaktimaan, the 90s superhero, will be reimagined as a franchise and the initial work on it has already begun. It will be a trilogy, as reported earlier. While the makers are scouting for an apt cast for the movie, IndiaToday.in has learned that Ranveer Singh has been offered to play the Indian superhero in the film.

As per sources, Ranveer has been offered Shaktimaan and has shown keen interest in being a part of the film. However, he has not signed the film on dotted lines yet. Ranveer is currently wrapping up Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which will see the Gully Boy pair, Ranveer and Alia Bhatt reunite. "Ranveer has shown a keen interest in playing Shaktimaan, the Indian superhero. The makers too feel that Ranveer can bring a natural charisma to the superhero character, who was first introduced in 1997. Talks are on with the actor and the team," the source added.

We reached out to Mukesh Khanna for a comment, but he refused to divulge any details. However, he did not deny the news either.

In February 2022, when the film announcement was made, a post on Comicon's Twitter handle announcing the film in 2018 had gone viral. Later, it was concluded that the post was an April Fools' prank. However, it looks like it is no longer a prank.

Ranveer has already wrapped up Rohit Shetty's Cirkus. The actor also has Simmba 2 in the pipeline, but the film is not looking to go on the floor anytime soon. There is another film with Shankar, but the film is currently at a very initial stage.

Earlier, Mukesh Khanna had said that the film will be made on a whopping budget of Rs. 300 crores.
