NSUI national in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar announces 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' program in Bihar to address education and employment issues.
National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) national in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar on Tuesday (May 13, 2025) said Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi would start the ‘Shiksha Nyay Samvad’ programme in Bihar from May 15, which aimed to communicate with the youth on issues related to education, employment and social participation.
Ahead of the Assembly election, Mr. Gandhi would interact with the students in Darbhanga. Mr. Kumar added that 62 national leaders, including Mr. Gandhi, would directly communicate with the students on their problems in Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) hostels and community halls at various places under the Shiksha Nyay Samvad.

The NSUI leader alleged that the education system of Bihar had become the biggest failure of the double engine government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“Bihar, which has heritage sites like Nalanda and Vikramshila, is today immersed in an educational crisis. Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister of the State for 20 years and Narendra Modi has been the Prime Minister for 11 years but the condition of the State is from bad to worse,” Mr. Kumar told the media.
He charged that the Bihar government trapped the students in the web of loans by giving student credit cards for their studies, and started sending loan recovery agents even before they get a job.
Mr. Kumar accused the Bihar government of using the money allocated for SC/ST students for bridge and road construction. Not a single degree college had been opened in 358 blocks and there was a shortage of permanent teachers, and a three-year degree was being completed in six years.
