
Punjab govt to vaccinate students going abroad on priority: CM

The government of Punjab will be providing priority vaccinations for students who have plans to study abroad for this academic year.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has recently announced that the state government will be conducting a vaccination drive on priority for students who are planning to study abroad for the academic year 2021-22 and have to report to their universities. Chief Minister @Capt_Amarinder Singh announced that students wanting to go abroad for studies from Punjab will now be prioritised in the vaccination process for the 18-45 group. During a Covid-19 review meeting, CM Amarinder Singh announced that certain groups including students seeking to go abroad, caregivers of elderly persons and other priority groups need to be vaccinated as soon as possible in the state. According to reports, the government of Punjab has vaccinated over 4.3 lakh people falling in the priority category till now. The priority category earlier consisted of construction labours, co-morbid individuals and families of healthcare workers.
