The state government did around 10,000 Covid-19 tests in schools after several students in Punjab tested positive for the virus.
The government of Punjab decided to increase the number of Covid-19 tests and did over 10,000 tests daily in schools after 26 students from schools were tested positive for the virus, just days after the schools were reopened for offline classes. On Tuesday, 20 students from two schools in Ludhiana tested positive for Covid-19. Six students of a government school were found infected with the disease in Hoshiarpur on Wednesday, which prompted the government to take this step.
