Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas share FIRST pic of baby girl Malti after 100 days in hospital

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have finally shared the first picture of their baby girl, Malti Marie. The couple also penned emotional notes on spending 100 days in the NICU with the little one.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas made one of the biggest announcements of the year in January. The couple welcomed their first child via surrogacy. While fans have been eagerly waiting to know more about the little one, Priyanka and Nick surprised us all by sharing the first picture of their newborn daughter, Malti, today, May 9. The couple is also extra grateful this Mother's Day as they brought their bundle of joy home after spending 100 days in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the birth of their baby girl in January this year. However, it was a tough ride for the couple. They welcomed their baby girl, Malti Marie, home on Mother’s Day weekend after she spent more than 100 days in the newborn intensive care unit. The couple commemorated the milestone by sharing the first photo of the munchkin on Instagram. In the sweet picture, Priyanka Chopra is seen holding Malti Marie on her chest, while Nick Jonas grabs onto her little arm. However, they hid their daughter's face with a heart emoji.

The couple issued a joint statement saying, "On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is (sic)."

The note further read, "We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every Doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and caretakers in my life and out there. You make it look so easy. Thank you (sic)."

Priyanka Chopra took to social media and wrote, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much (sic)."
