Poco just recently announced the M4 Pro 5G smartphone in India and it is now expected to launch the toned-down version of the device. The company could launch the Poco M4 in the coming months. The specifications of the budget 5G phone have also surfaced online. It will likely be a successor to the Poco M3 smartphone that made its debut back in February 2021. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming budget phone from Poco.
The latest leak suggests that the company will make some notable changes, but it is also downgrading in some departments to keep prices low. Tipster Yogesh Brar has allegedly leaked the specifications of the Poco M4. The leak reveals that the new budget phone will arrive with a bigger 6.58-inch LCD display that will have support for 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.
It will reportedly use a 5G chipset from MediaTek. The cited source claims that the Poco M4 will be powered by a Dimensity 700 SoC, which one will also find inside the Realme Narzo 30 5G smartphone. It is said to ship with Android 12 OS, which would be nice as several mid-range phones were launched this year with older Android OS.
The cited source suggests that the new version will feature a 5,000mAh battery, which is a downgrade, considering its predecessor has a bigger 6,000mAh unit. The company will still add support for 18W charging, as was the case with the Poco M3. With this device, Poco bundles a 22.5W charger, but it is currently unknown whether the new one will also ship with the same adapter.
Furthermore, the tipster suggests that the Poco M4 could have a 5-megapixel camera. For your reference, the Poco M3 4G features an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. At the back of the M4, there could be a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The M3 also offers a 2-megapixel camera along with these sensors, but this one isn’t going to make any difference.
