Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch projects worth ₹77,400 crore in Gujarat during two-day visit, focusing on urban development and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch projects worth over ₹ 77,400 crore in Gujarat during a two-day visit to his home State that begins on Monday (May 26, 2025).
According to a statement, Mr. Modi will inaugurate a locomotive manufacturing plant and flag off an electric locomotive from Dahod on Monday.
He will then travel to Bhuj and launch multiple development projects worth over ₹ 53,400 crore. He will address gatherings at both places.
On Tuesday, the statement said, Mr. Modi will attend an event celebrating 20 years of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story and launch the Urban Development Year 2025 in Gandhinagar.
The Dahod plant will produce 9,000 HP electric locomotives for domestic purposes and export.
These locomotives will be equipped with regenerative braking systems and are designed to reduce energy consumption, the statement said.
Mr. Modi will flag off a Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and an express train between Valsad and Dahod. He will also inaugurate the gauge converted Katosan-Kalol section and flag off a freight train on it.

The design team at The Indian Twist works on the spontaneous artworks by children and young adults from A Brush With Art (@abwa_chennai) and CanBridge Academy (thecanbridgeacademy), “kneading” them into its products, thereby transforming these artworks into a state of saleability. CanBridge Academy provides life skill training to young adults with autism. And ABWA promotes “expression of natural art in children with special needs”.
