PM Modi to launch 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' today; flag off 'Padyatra' from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi

In view of celebrating 75 years of India's Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' event today by flagging off a 241-mile march from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi in Gujarat's Navsari district.

The Padyatra to be flagged off (today) by Prime Minister will cover a journey of 241 miles from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad to Dandi in Navsari and will end on 5th April lasting for 25 days. In a tweet, PM Modi had talked about how March 12 is a special day in India's glorious history, as on that day in 1930 the iconic Dandi march led by Mahatma Gandhi began.
