
Pak YouTube channel among 8 blocked by govt over disinformation about national security

The government has blocked eight YouTube channels, including a Pakistan-based channel, for spreading disinformation about India's national security.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has blocked eight YouTube channels, including a Pakistani one, for spreading disinformation related to India’s national security, foreign relations and public order.
Seven Indian and one Pakistan-based YouTube news channels have been blocked under the IT Rules, 2021.
The blocked YouTube channels had over 114 crore views and 85,73,000 subscribers and were monetising fake anti-India content.

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
