At least 100 Coralwood residents in Gurugram fell ill over the past two days after reportedly drinking contaminated water.
Over 100 people, including children, fell sick as they developed severe stomach infection after allegedly drinking 'contaminated' water in Gurugram. The residents of The Coralwood in Sector 84 complained after several people were rushed to nearby hospitals over the past two days. They claimed that people fell sick after consuming contaminated water being supplied from a borewell.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), residents have raised suspicion that untreated water from the nearby villages and societies is seeping into the borewell, which has led to a rise in water-borne diseases. As per the report, at least ten people, including kids and senior citizens, were taken to hospitals over the past two days after they complained of stomach infection, uneasiness, diarrhoea and vomiting. There are around 350 families living in the residential complex at present.

Energy disruption due to the war in the Middle East has exposed India's dependence on imported gas. It has prompted a policy shift mandating a switch from LPG to piped natural gas (PNG) where available. With supply constraints looming, the government is fast-tracking pipelines and pushing a nationwide transition to strengthen energy security.
