After remaining shut for almost a month in response of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, all educational institutions resumed physical classes across Odisha on Monday.
All classes for students of Class 7 and above, colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, professional institutions and universities have started functioning while following the Covid-19 guidelines.
Whereas, college and university hostels reopened the day before, on Sunday.
Schools for students in Class 1 to Class 6 will return on February 14, according to Odisha School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash.
Due to the pandemic, students of these classes were not able to attend schools for almost two years now.
Following a decline in Covid-19 cases, it had been earlier announced by the Odisha Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra that schools and colleges across Odisha would resume from February 7 and February 14.
He also said that, besides this, the impact of the third wave of the pandemic was lesser than the impact of the two previous waves.
