A 24-year-old MBA student was found dead in a rented room in Indore, with police investigating allegations of the victim suffering from depression and being blackmailed allegedly by her boyfriend, who is missing and the prime suspect in the case.
A naked body of a 24-year-old MBA student was found inside a rented room in Indore on Friday, triggering outrage and fear among residents. Police found rope marks around her neck, indicating she had been strangled, and are looking for her boyfriend, Piyush Dhamnodiya, who is missing after the incident.
The woman had been missing for several days. Her family had lodged a missing complaint after she failed to return home. According to the missing report, the victim had accompanied her father on February 11 to get her birth certificate corrected. Later that night, she told her family she was going to attend a friend’s birthday party and left home, but never returned.
Police said the victim had been missing since February 10, with the formal complaint filed the following day.
The victim’s father has alleged that his daughter had slipped into depression after obscene photos and videos of her were circulated online. He claimed she was being blackmailed by Piyush, who allegedly pressured her into paying his college fees.
He also said he identified his daughter through her socks. “I got a call from the police saying they were at the boy’s room. I can’t describe her condition,” he said.
He added that her daughter was an MBA second-semester student and that both she and the accused studied in the same class.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
