NSO ADG inaugurates Sub-Regional Office building in Kakinada

NSO ADG Sunitha Bhaskar inaugurates Kakinada's first owned Sub-Regional Office building, showcasing cultural performances and local engagement.
National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division) Additional Director General Sunitha Bhaskar on Saturday (March 14, 2026) inaugurated the Sub-Regional Office of the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division) in Kakinada city.
Ms. Sunitha Bhaskar claimed that the Kakinada Sub-Regional Office building is the first owned building of the Field Operations Division in South India. Construction of the office began in 2009.
Anupam Lahiri, DDG, C&QCD, Bangalore, E.V. Gangadhara Rao, ADG (Retd.), P.V.R. Prasad, ADG (Retd.), R. Kiran Kumar, ADG (Retd.), P. Trinadha, District Economics and Statistics officer, Kakinada and Ram Singh, superintendent (Salt Dept), Kakinada were also present. Cultural performances, including Kuchipudi by local dancers, enthralled the guests.

When a biology lesson on organ systems generated immense interest among Class VIII students of The Pupil International School, the biology teacher Mathura saw an opportunity for an extended class, one about organ donation helmed by subject matter experts from Mohan Foundation. The session eventually led to the formation of Organ Donation Awareness Club led by 25 Class VIII students.
