BNP highlights serious discrepancies in Bengaluru's civic electoral rolls, urging the Election Commission to implement proper ward sectioning.
The Bengaluru NavaNirmana Party (BNP) claimed on Saturday that it has identified large-scale systemic discrepancies in the electoral rolls prepared for the upcoming civic polls.
According to a release, preliminary verifications revealed a trend where residents from the same street, layout, or apartment complexes were being spread across multiple polling booths, leading to incorrect ward mapping.
This structural failure means that hundreds of voters are currently assigned to wards where they do not actually reside, threatening the very foundation of the local democratic process, the release stated.
It further added, “To address this, the BNP has submitted detailed supporting data to the Election Commission, pointing to the absence of proper “sectioning” as the root cause.”
Srikanth Narasimhan, founder of BNP, said, “The issue stems from a flaw in the preparation of the corporation voter list, where entire polling booths are being mapped into a single ward, even though the voters within those booths belong to different geographic wards. The BNP’s examination of data from ward no. 34 (Chikkathoguru) and ward no. 33 (Naganathapura) in the Bengaluru South City Corporation confirms this.”

When a biology lesson on organ systems generated immense interest among Class VIII students of The Pupil International School, the biology teacher Mathura saw an opportunity for an extended class, one about organ donation helmed by subject matter experts from Mohan Foundation. The session eventually led to the formation of Organ Donation Awareness Club led by 25 Class VIII students.
