NICE opens a 1.5-km link road, enhancing traffic flow and connectivity from Deepanjali Nagar to NICE Road in Bengaluru.
The much-awaited 1.5-km connecting road developed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) near Deepanjali Nagar Junction on Mysuru Road has been opened to the public, offering improved access to NICE Road, also known as the Bangalore–Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC).
The newly constructed four-lane stretch directly links Deepanjali Nagar junction (BHEL Circle) to NICE Road near Hosakerehalli PES College. The development is expected to ease traffic flow and provide connectivity towards Challaghatta and adjoining areas, which is likely to benefit thousands of daily commuters.
The project had faced delays due to land acquisition challenges. Currently, motorists travelling the 11-km stretch from Deepanjali Nagar to Challaghatta during peak hours spend between 45 minutes to an hour due to severe congestion. Key junctions such as Nayandahalli, R.R. Nagar, Jnanabharathi and Pattenagere frequently witness traffic snarls, particularly at signals.
With the new link road now operational, travel time to Challaghatta is expected to reduce to around 30 minutes.
A NICE official source said, “This connecting road is aimed at decongesting critical junctions and providing direct access to NICE Road. We expect a substantial reduction in travel time and smoother traffic movement.”
Meanwhile, NICE promoter Ashok Kheny, in a post on X on March 16, shared a drone shot showcasing the newly opened stretch.
