In the busy streets of Chennai, the familiar silhouette of a lady emerges from a car. An elderly woman watching from close quarters gasps in surprise. It is her hero, the late J Jayalalithaa. Running over, she falls at her feet and cries, “Amma! Inner Vibes’26, an ongoing exhibition at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai, brings together 54 abstract artists who strip the visual language of art down to its bare essentials — black, white and the many greys in-between.
