Mumbai: Woman peddlers roped in as drug suppliers to evade NCB, arrested

The NCB, during multiple raids conducted in Mumbai, arrested several women peddlers who were roped in as drug suppliers by drug lords to evade agency.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai arrested five drug peddlers and recovered multiple drugs from them during raids conducted at their residences. NCB's Mumbai zonal unit conducted raids on Saturday and Sunday at multiple locations across the city and Thane and recovered 165 grams of Mephedrone, 20 blots of LSD, 8 grams of Ecstacy from the drug peddlers. During the raids, NCB officials found that teen girls were roped in by drug lords and suppliers to supply drugs to their clients to evade drug enforcement agencies. On Saturday, NCB officials led by Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede raided a location in Mahim near the Mao restaurant and recovered 105 grams of Mephedrone. Two persons including a woman peddler were arrested during this raid. Another raid at Thane in the Dhokali locality at a flat in Everest world building led to recovery of 8 grams of Ecstacy tablets and 20 blots of LSD. One person was arrested during the raid.
