A special PMLA court denied bail to former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh's personal secretary, Sanjeev Palande, in a money laundering case.
A Mumbai court on Wednesday had denied bail to former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh's personal secretary, Sanjeev Palande, in a money laundering case. Palande (51) was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in June.
While refusing to grant bail to Palande, Judge MG Deshpande said, "detailed examination of evidence and elaborate discussion of a case on merit for pre-judging acquittal or conviction, is not to be undertaken for grant of bail."

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
