After focusing on flagship phones, Motorola may soon shift its focus back to the mid-rangers. Motorola’s popular Moto G may soon get an update. If reports are anything to go by, a Moto G 5G 2022 is in the works and may hit the market soon. The Lenovo-owned company had previously launched the Moto G 5G in India with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 G processor. It was the first Motorola phone to come with 5G support. Now there will be a 2022 version of the popular mid-ranger.
As per the Gizchina report, the Moto G 5G 2022 is in the works. The smartphone is codenamed Austin. The phone will feature a punch-hole cutout on the front for the selfie camera, along with a triple camera system on the rear. A slight upgrade can be expected in the camera department as the Moto G 5G 2022 is speculated to come with a 50-megapixel camera whereas the previous generation Moto G 5G featured a 48-megapixel camera. Motorola will ditch the square-shaped camera module in the upcoming Moto G 5G 2022 and opt for a pill-shaped camera island. The previous generation Moto G featured a square-shaped camera module, which housed three camera sensors and one LED flashlight. Moto G 5G 2022: Expected price and specifications
As per the Gizchina report, the Moto G 5g 2022 is expected to be priced at Rs 22,990 in India ($300 / 275). The previous generation Moto G 5G was launched at around Rs 20,000 in India. The phone is expected to arrive in a single RAM variant. The smartphone will be offered in Volcanic Grey and Frosted Silver colorways.
Moto G 5G 2022: Specifications
Motorola Moto G 5G (2022)was spotted with a model number XT2213. The device is expected to feature a 6.6-inch screen and use the same processor as its predecessor. The Moto G 5G uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset and the Moto G 5G 2022 is also expected to use the same chipset. The report states that the smartphone is expected to run on Android 11 out of the box. This comes as a shocker because even the mid-range phones are coming with Android 12 out of the box and it would not be reasonable for Motorola to release a device with an old OS. It is even harder to process because the Android 12 is out and Google is gearing up to launch the Android 13 update.
In the camera department, Moto G 5G 2022 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera along with an 8-megapixel secondary and a 2-megapixel camera.
