Mohanlal feels that Randamoozham won't happen as the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way the industry operates. The biggie was first announced in 2011.

Mohanlal had some time ago been roped in to star in Randamoozham, which created a great deal of buzz among fans. There were plans to shoot the film on a budget of Rs 1000 crore, making it the most expensive Indian movie ever. The biggie, however, never took off. During a recent interview, Lalettan confirmed that it won't be happening as things have changed after the Covid-19 pandemic. Randamoozham, based on the popular Malayalam novel of the same name, was to be directed by VA Shrikumar.

Mohanlal, last seen in 12th Man, recently opened up about his upcoming projects. Speaking to Manorama, the Complete Actor said that he has an interesting lineup of films but Randamoozham does not feature in it.

"I don’t think 'Randamoozham' would happen hereafter. At one stage, it slipped away. it was almost like happening then. Everybody celebrated it. It could have happened then. Later, everything toppled, right? Covid hit and the scenario changed." said the actor.

Randamoozham was originally announced in 2011 with Hariharan attached to direct the Mohanlal-led movie. VA. Shrikumar later took over the film. BR Shetty came on board as a producer. The film was planned as a two-part franchise with the first instalment slated to open in theatres in 2025. Things, however, didn't go as planned as Randamoozham. never took off.

Mohanlal, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. His upcoming movies include L2, Monster, and Ram: Part 1. L2, in particular, has garnered a fair deal of attention as it is a follow-up to his 2019 blockbuster Lucifer (2019) He is set to turn director with Barroz.
