MIUI 13 with Android 12 rolls out for beta testers on Redmi Note 10 phones, Mi 11 Lite

Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable beta version of its MIUI 13 globally. Here is how the rollout is turning out to be and what we can expect to see in India soon.
Xiaomi has not yet announced the official rollout of MIUI 13 for its phones. However, reports are pouring in from different parts of the world suggesting that the Android 12-based operating system by Xiaomi has started to reach some devices. Surprisingly, development has been seen in a few budget Xiaomi phones and not its top-end offerings.
New reports on the internet suggest that the Android 12 powered MIUI 13 has started rolling out to beta testers in limited numbers. The update has been seen on some global units of the Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Mi 11 Lite. The stable beta update brings the latest Android version to the phones, along with the new January security patch.
Since this is a beta update, some of the Android 12 features are still missing from it and are only expected on the final version of the OS update. The new Mi Sans Font is also not present as of now. What is seen on the new OS is general system improvements, the January security patch as well as the new-look Control Center.
Note that the MIUI 13 was first announced by Xiaomi towards the end of last year, alongside the launch of its new flagship phones - the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro. At the time, the company claimed that the MIUI 13 will focus more on security and privacy enhancements and will make the user experience on Xiaomi and Poco phones more fluid. The new Mi Sans font was also meant to provide a unique look to Xiaomi smartphones and tablets.
It is easy to see how MIUI 13 is more a design-focused update than bringing new functionality to phones, as was the case with MIUI 12. At present, most Xiaomi phones in India are running MIUI 12.5, based on Android 11. It is expected that as and when Xiaomi starts the rollout of MIUI 13 in the country, it will do so for Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, Mi 11X and Xiaomi 11T Pro at first. We can only expect to see the beta build on the rollout at first.
MIUI 13 beta is already on a rollout in Xiaomi's home country, China. The first version of the OS update has been rolled out to 32 Xiaomi and Redmi devices.
