Minister distributes ₹77 lakh worth welfare measures to differently abled people

Minister Periyasamy distributes ₹77 lakh in welfare measures to 712 differently abled individuals in Dindigul.
The Minister of Rural Development I. Periyasamy during an event organised here on Wednesday to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, distributed welfare measures worth ₹77 lakh to 712 differently abled people.
Speaking at the function Mr. Periyasamy said: “The 712 differently abled who submitted their needs during the special camps conducted by the district administration were picked for the welfare measures.”
As per that, eight motor attached tricycles, 21 battery-operated wheelchairs, 30 tricycles, 86 foldable wheelchairs, 14 crutches, 104 elbow crutches, 53 crutches, 17 rollator walker, eight special wheelchairs for people affected with cerebral palsy, seven ADL kit, 206 hearing aids, nine smart phones, 328 equipment for education of children with special needs, 63 prosthetic legs and 12 prosthetic hands were given to beneficiaries.
Dindigul Collector M. N. Poongodi, Vedasandur MLA S. Gandhirajan, among others were present during the event.
