Mini marathon held

Around 500 athletes from schools and colleges participated in a mini marathon organised by the district administration in association with the District Sports Development Authority at the Collector’s camp office here on Wednesday.
The event, conducted on behalf of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence, was flagged off by Collector,S. Visakan and Superintendent of Police V.R. Srinivasan.
After starting from the Collector’s camp office, the participants reached the starting point traversing through Head Post Office, Bus Stand, AMC road, Dindigul Corporation Office, Vellai Vinayagar Temple junction, St. Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Government Hospital, North Police Station.
Revenue Divisional Officer Premkumar, District Sports Officer Rose Fatima Mary and others were present.
An exhibition on behalf of AKAM will be held at the Corporation Kumaran Park here from April 15 to April 22.
The exhibition will house details of government schemes to educate the public.
