MG Motor India opened the bookings for the MG Astor SUV in the country today, and within minutes, it was sold out for 2021, with deliveries to start from the first week of November. The MG Astor is available for pre-bookings at an initial token amount of Rs 25,000. The carmaker aims to deliver 5,000 units of the MG Astor within this year. MG also announced that the pre-bookings for 2022 are now open on its official website as well as at its dealerships. The MG Astor rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun in India and is priced at Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India, said, “MG Astor is a premium mid-segment SUV with elegant exteriors, luxurious interiors, and futuristic technology. We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year.”
