A Mexican couple got married in traditional Hindu wedding attire at the Shiva temple in Taj Nagari.
A Mexican couple got married according to Hindu customs in Agra after visiting the Taj Mahal today. The couple got married in traditional Hindu wedding attire at the Shiva temple in Taj Nagari. The wedding was attended by some local friends of the couple. Everyone dined together in a restaurant after the wedding and local tour operators, guides, drivers, and hoteliers also participated in this event.
Gaurav Gupta, a local hotelier, took over the responsibility of arranging the wedding ceremony of the foreign couple.
The names of the couple are Claudia and Ceramico. Claudia said, "When we heard the story of the Taj Mahal, we were impressed by the love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz and wanted to keep our love immortal and memorable forever. With that in mind, we made a plan to visit India, and then we decided that we would complete the wedding rituals according to Hindu customs."
When asked why they decided to come to Agra and get married, the couple said that they are very much attracted to the culture of India and had decided long back to get married in India according to Hindu customs. To ensure that their love lasts forever, they chose Agra, the city of love, for their marriage.
The Mexican couple visited the Taj Mahal at sunrise in the morning and then tied the knot in the afternoon. In the evening, the couple danced at a restaurant with the rest of their group members and invited everyone to their wedding dinner.
This is not the first time that a foreign couple has come and gotten married in Agra. Earlier too, there have been many such couples who have come from around the world and got married according to Hindu customs in Agra. In the year 2019 too, 4 couples from Mexico got married according to Hindu customs. The people of Mexico like Hindu customs as well as Indian culture, which is why they come to India and get remarried according to Hindu customs.
Gaurav Gupta told indiatoday.in that the cost of a wedding comes to around 30 to 35 thousand rupees.
