The video gained wider attention after being reposted by The Nalanda Index, an X account that claims to highlight social issues and national concerns. In its caption, the account said the incident reportedly took place at Mathura Railway Station and criticised the act as reckless.
“This viral ‘snake prank’ video is reportedly from Mathura Railway Station where a youth was seen dragging a snake-like object tied to a rope behind him, creating panic among passengers. Chaos broke out as people rushed in fear, leading to unnecessary disruption and risk,” the post read.
It further warned against such behaviour in public spaces, adding that such pranks are “not funny” but dangerous and irresponsible, with the potential to trigger stampedes or accidents.
The account also shared Kumar’s Facebook ID link in the comments and tagged multiple railway authorities, seeking action.
