According to the passenger, the auto driver was not just occasionally glancing at his phone, but "locked in," continuously watching short videos while driving.
An auto ride in Bengaluru turned into a moment of alarm when a passenger noticed the driver scrolling through videos while navigating traffic.
The incident was shared on X by Akansha, who posted a video and a detailed account of her experience. According to her, the auto driver was not just occasionally glancing at his phone, but “locked in,” continuously watching short videos while driving.
Describing the situation, she wrote, “The driver kept watching short videos while driving not occasionally watching, this dude was locked in, busy scrolling and not really paying attention to the road.”
The seriousness of the situation became evident when a truck ahead suddenly began reversing. “He didn’t notice and I had to scream ‘Anna nodi munde,’ he braked at the last second,” she added.
Akansha said she calmly asked the driver to stop watching videos, not just for her safety but in general. “Please don’t watch videos while driving, even when you’re alone,” she recalled telling him. While the driver initially agreed, the behaviour resumed within minutes. “Five minutes later, he was back at it again,” she wrote.
