Telangana's Chief Secretary directs officials to ensure smooth LPG cylinder supply and prevent black marketing for consumers.
Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has instructed the Civil Supplies officials and oil marketing companies to take steps to ensure that domestic consumers did not face problems for getting LPG cylinders.
Officials are directed to conduct daily review of the situation and take steps to prevent scope for black marketing of LPG cylinders. Police vigil should be maintained at gas distribution centres and supply agencies.
The officials informed the Chief Secretary that there were 1.29 crore domestic connections across the State and sufficient stock of LPG cylinders was available to meet the demand. Mr. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed the gas supply situation with senior officials and Oil Marketing Companies on Friday (March 13, 2026).
The meeting discussed about supply of cylinders, available stocks, transport logistics and future requirements. Officials informed that LPG cylinders were being supplied to hospitals and Government hostels based on the demand. There was also no cause of concern related to supply to domestic consumers. Oil firms representatives informed that LPG cylinders were being supplied through 810 distribution centres across the State.
The Chief Secretary directed the OMCs to take steps for timely supply of cylinders. They were asked to coordinate with the departments concerned to ensure supplies in time in rural and urban areas.
