Madurai Mayor’s husband Pon Vasanth suspended from DMK for ‘anti-party’ activities
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Thursday (May 29, 2025) suspended its functionary Pon Vasanth, the husband of Madurai Mayor Indrani, from the party, citing “anti-party” activities.
DMK general secretary Duraimurugan announced his suspension on charges of violating party discipline and bringing disrepute to the organisation. Mr. Vasanth is a known loyalist of Information Technology Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.
