Hyderabad restaurants face LPG shortages, leading to temporary closures and limited menus as supply disruptions escalate.
The nationwide Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply disruption, which appeared manageable in Hyderabad in the past few days, began affecting the city’s hospitality sector more severely on Friday (March 13, 2026) with several restaurants and hotels either shutting operations or restricting services.
Simply South restaurant announced on Instagram on Friday morning that its Jubilee Hills outlet would remain closed for the day due to the disruption. “Due to ongoing gas supply constraints, our kitchen operations are currently impacted. While we realign our kitchen systems and operations, the outlet will not be operational today,” the restaurant said in its post.
The restaurant also issued a separate communication regarding its Knowledge City outlet, stating that operations would continue only with restricted service timings. “Due to a temporary LPG gas supply shortage, our kitchen operations are currently affected. We will operate with reserved service timings until further notice,” the post said, adding that only lunch and dinner services would be available.
Other eateries across the city have also started scaling down operations. Missamma Restaurant in Moosapet said it had restricted its menu because of the shortage. “Due to the LPG supply constraints, we are operating with a limited menu, which focuses on our most popular, reliable dishes” the restaurant said in a communication.
Gaurang’s Kitchen in Jubilee Hills has discontinued its weekday thali service and introduced a limited menu until the situation improves. In a message to customers, the restaurant said that its menu would feature a reduced selection of dishes from its regular offerings. Some items may only be available during specific hours, and certain preparations may be served with minor modifications.
Similarly, 7 Sisters restaurant said the availability of menu items may vary during the day due to the gas supply constraints. “Our menu may feature a selection of dishes and the availability of some items might vary at different times of the day. Online ordering will remain available, though with a limited range of menu options,” the restaurant said.
