Lenovo has introduced two new budget laptops in the market - ThinkPad E15 and ThinkPad E14 G4. These machines have been launched silently without any formal announcement. Given the popularity of the ThinkPad series this is quite surprising. Lenovo might have chosen to do so as the devices are just a minor upgrade over their predecessors.This is the only possible reason we can think of.
The two laptops have an aluminum build and feature narrow bezels. They also feature backlit keyboards and a fingerprint scanner for authentication. Lenovo ThinkPad E14 price starts at EUR 719 (roughly Rs. 60,500), as per a listing on CampusPoint website. Whereas, Lenovo ThinkPad E15 G4 comes at a starting price of EUR 569 (roughly Rs. 47,850).
Lenovo ThinkPad E14 G4 sports a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It is equipped with a hexa-core AMD Ryzen 5 5625U processor and is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Lenovo says that the laptop can run up to 15.8 hours on a single charge. It supports RapidCharge technology that is claimed to juice up 80 percent of the battery in an hour.
The laptop features a FHD+ webcam with Windows Hello and 2W stereo Harman speakers with Dolby Audio support. Connectivity options on the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 G4 laptop include two USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, an HDMI port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2.
The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 G4 laptop gets a bigger 15.6-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. It is powered by a quad-core AMD Ryzen 3 5425U processor and is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The rest of the features are similar to the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 besides battery life which is lesser at 13.6 hours.
Lenovo ThinkPad E15 G4 also has a higher specced variant that packs a AMD Ryzen 7 5825U processor paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD storage.
