Last flight out: Composer Santhosh Narayanan's lucky escape amid Middle East chaos
India Today
Music composer Santhosh Narayanan shared his experience of leaving Qatar just ahead of airport shutdowns amid rising tensions between the US, Israel and Iran. Hours later, he confirmed that he had landed safely in the United States.
As tensions flared up across the Middle East and airspace shut down one after another, music composer Santhosh Narayanan narrowly made it out, describing his Qatar-bound flight as possibly the last to depart before airports across the region went dark.
Recalling his ordeal on social media on Sunday, Narayanan shared an anxious yet grateful update while en route to the United States, amid the escalating US–Israel–Iran conflict.
“My Qatar flight was probably the very last to leave the Middle East before the complete shutdown of airports,” he wrote on X, adding, “Just connected via Starlink as I am flying into the US. Praying for the safety of all my brothers and sisters in the region (sic).”
His post came as several countries in the Middle East closed their airspace following a rapid escalation in military activity, triggering widespread disruption to civilian air travel.
A few hours later, the composer reassured fans and well-wishers with an update confirming his safe arrival. “I have reached the US safely. Thank you for your concerned messages and prayers (sic),” he wrote, bringing relief to those tracking developments closely.
