Priyank Kharge reviews 24x7 water supply project progress in Kalaburagi, warns L&T of consequences for delays.
Concerned over delays in the implemsentation of the ambitious 24 x 7 drinking water supply project for Kalaburagi city, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi district in-charge Priyank Kharge held a high-level review meeting with officials from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in Bengaluru.
During the meeting, Mr. Kharge expressed dissatisfaction over the pace and quality of the ongoing work stating that the project is of critical importance to the residents of Kalaburagi and that it must be completed within the revised timeline.
“The current progress is far from satisfactory,” the Minister noted after reviewing updates and inputs provided by the L&T team.
He directed the company to adhere strictly to the newly defined deadlines and warned that no leniency will be shown in case of further delays.
“There will be no concessions on this matter. If L&T fails to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, the government will cancel the contract and entrust the work to an alternative agency. Timely delivery of essential public services is not negotiable and the people of Kalaburagi deserve nothing less,” Mr. Kharge stated firmly.
