Kanpur: Two senior doctors suspended for private practice

Two senior doctors from the Kanpur Medical College (GSVM) were suspended for indulging in private practice.
A doctor couple from the Kanpur Medical College (GSVM) has been suspended for practising privately.
The senior doctor named Dr Raghavendra Gupta and his wife, Dr Swapnil Gupta, have been suspended after the Income Tax Department raided their home, last month.
They have been transferred to Banda Medical College now.
While Dr Gupta was a Neuro Surgeon at GSVM Medical College and his wife was an assistant professor in the Pathology Department.
The principal of the college, Dr Sanjay Kala has also sought clarification from the doctors for private practice and notice has been issued.
Apart from this, Dr Swapnil Gupta also runs a pathology in front of Hallet hospital. During the raid, cash worth Rs 1.30 crores was seized by the agency.
Sending a report to the government, Dr Kala confirmed the suspension of the doctors.
