Kalladka flyover on Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH 75 partially opened for vehicles

The 2.1 km flyover was a part of four-lane project of Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75 between B. C. Road and Adda Hole. According to Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, 85.63% of the work between B.C. Road and Periyashanthi (41.52 km out of 48.48 km) was complete while 95.17% work (14.4 km out of 15.13 km) on the Periyashanthi-Adda Hole stretch was complete.
One of the two carriageways of the flyover at Kalladka, from Mani (Bengaluru) towards B. C. Road (Mangaluru), was informally opened to vehicles to alleviate the woes of road-users on June 2.

Partial opening of the Kalladka flyover has brought a breather for road-users who were fed up of the hassle of navigating one of the worst stretches on the highway, at Kalladka, for over four years.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to undertake work on the Mani-B.C.Road stretch service road beneath the flyover after allowing movement of vehicles on the flyover.
The MP said that he had urged the NHAI to throw open the flyover, at least partially, considering the early arrival of monsoon. He had also instructed the NHAI to address the water-logging problem at Thumbay, between B.C. Road and Mangaluru on NH 75. Accordingly, NHAI was constructing a pipe culvert at the location to drain out rainwater.
Former MLAs Rukmayya Poojary and K. Padmanabha Kottary, Sri Rama Vidya Kendra founder Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Mahendra Singh, project manager of KNR Constructions, the contractor of the project, were among those present when the flyover was partially opened on June 2 morning.
Mr. Bhat thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for constructing the flyover in Kalladka town.
