A man in Jaipur allegedly killed his wife and his minor daughter with a sword and then walked into a police station to surrender, telling officers, “I have killed both of them.”
The incident took place on Thursday morning at around 6 am. According to police, the accused, identified as Surjeet, attacked his wife Saroj Devi and their eight-year-old daughter Vanshika with a sword. The assault was so brutal that both victims died on the spot.
At the time of the incident, Saroj Devi had just woken up from sleep, while the young girl was still asleep. The sudden and gruesome act created panic and fear in the village.
After committing the crime, the accused reportedly left his house and went straight to the police station, where he surrendered and informed the police about the killings. Police personnel were left shocked upon hearing his confession.
A police team immediately rushed to the spot and inspected the crime scene. The bodies of the victims were taken into custody and sent to the mortuary of Dudu sub-district hospital.
Meanwhile, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also reached the location and collected important evidence from the crime scene as part of the investigation.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
