While you might be wondering whether a regulatory crackdown in China has forced him to maintain a low profile, Jack Ma is holidaying in Spain on his superyacht. A coupled of days ago, Jack Ma was spotted in Hong Kong for a business meeting but his Spain trip does not seem like an official one and the technology billionaire is believed to have stepped out for his first overseas trip since the crackdown in China.
As per Vice, Jack Ma reached Spain in a private jet over the weekend and went around on his luxury yacht, which is called Zen. The billionaire co-founder went shopping and played golf. Jack Ma’s visits to places, countries have been under constant scrutiny since the regulatory clampdown on Alibaba Group that began last year. The regulatory crackdown in China addressed issues ranging from monopoly violations to consumer rights. Alibaba was asked to pay a hefty fine of $2.75 billion in April over such antitrust violations.
