Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian joined a Quds Day rally in Tehran alongside senior leaders, posing with supporters despite nearby strikes that killed at least one person, as Iran projected defiance while the US claimed the country's military capability had been severely weakened.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian joined thousands of protesters on the streets of Tehran during the annual Quds Day rally, posing for selfies with supporters even as explosions were later reported near the demonstration site amid continuing strikes.
The appearance of Iran’s leadership at the rally came during one of the most volatile moments of the ongoing conflict, with state media reporting that at least one woman was killed in strikes near the capital.
State television footage showed Pezeshkian greeting people and taking photographs with them on rain-soaked streets during the march held in support of the Palestinian cause.

The rally drew several of Iran’s most senior officials in a public display of defiance despite the continuing attacks.
Among those present were national security chief Ali Larijani, judiciary chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, national police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan and foreign minister Abbas Araghchi.

The profiles of at least three of China's leading nuclear, missile and radar experts were scrubbed from the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the country's most prestigious academic body. This comes as a series of purges under Premier Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign have decimated the upper echelons of China's military and scientific community.

The aircraft had also been used by senior Iranian officials and military figures for both domestic and international travel, and for coordinating with allied countries, the Israeli military said. Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture. A dive into the world of Zoroastrianism and Vedas shows us how Indians and Iranians have been sharing languages, Gods, sciences and a sacred fire for thousands of years.
