IND vs NZ, T20 World Cup 2026 Final: India arrived in Ahmedabad ahead of the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium, chasing history as they bid to become the first team to win back-to-back titles.
The Indian cricket team touched down in Ahmedabad on Sunday evening, ahead of what could be a historic T20 World Cup final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8.
The team flew in from Mumbai, where they had defeated England by seven runs in a thrilling semi-final, and arrived at Ahmedabad airport at 5:30 pm. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah departed separately in their cars, while head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Suryakumar Yadav and the rest of the squad made their way to the team hotel.
The stakes could not be higher. India are the defending T20 World Cup champions, having lifted the trophy in the previous edition, and are now on the verge of achieving something no team has ever done before.

Should they beat New Zealand on March 8, India will become the first team in history to win back-to-back T20 World Cup titles. They have already made history by becoming the first side to reach consecutive T20 World Cup finals, but victory on Sunday would put them in a class of their own.
There is yet another record within reach. No team has ever won the T20 World Cup on home soil, and with the final being played in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd at the world's largest cricket stadium, India has the opportunity to rewrite the history books in front of their own fans.
