Increase in shift of students from private to govt schools: ASER report

According to ASER 2021, there has been a major increase in the shift of students from private to government schools.
The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2021 shows that an increase in shift has been witnessed in students from private to government schools in the last three years. Uttar Pradesh and Kerala reported the maximum increase in government school admissions. The information is based on a survey conducted in 25 states and three Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh - (13.2 percent) Kerala (11.9 percent) Rajasthan (9.4 percent) Maharashtra (9.2 percent) Karnataka (8.3 percent) Tamil Nadu (9.6 percent) Andhra Pradesh (8.4 percent) Telangana (3.7 percent) Bihar (2.8 percent) West Bengal (3.9 percent) Jharkhand (2.5 percent)
"At an all-India level, there has been a clear shift from private to government schools. For children in the age group of six to 14, enrolment in private schools has decreased from 32.5 percent in 2018 to 24.4 percent in 2021," said THE 16th ASER.
